How do I apply?

As of June 15, 2014 all of our waiting lists are closed. We will begin accepting applications for our Housing Choice Voucher program beginning April 1, 2015 at 1:00 a.m. Application are only accepted on-line in electronic format when the wait list is open. Paper applications are not accepted. However if someone needs assistance in completing the on-line application they may come by our office from 12 - 5 pm Monday through Thursday.

What information do I need when filling out an application?

The application requires you to list: Social Security numbers and birth dates of each household member. The total gross amount of family income from all sources. The total value of family assets.

 

How long does it take to reach the top of the waiting list?

Approximately 18 to 24 months.

 

How long does it take to find out if I am eligible for Rental Assistance?

A preliminary determination is made and mailed to the family usually within 30 days. However, eligibility must be verified at the time the application reaches the top of the waiting list.

 

What is needed to determine eligibility for Rental Assistance?
Preliminary eligibility is based on information provided on the application. A final determination must be made before admission to a program. A full application is taken and information is verified, such as:

  • Total household income from all sources.
  • Eligible expenses and deductions are verified and criminal history of adult household members must be reviewed.
